Rinzler Synth
A First Listen
Welcome to an interactive preview of the Rinzler Synth, an instrument built on a creative dialogue between you and a generative AI. Explore the concepts below and hear the results of our unique sound engine.
The Rinzler Method
The synth workflow separates discovery from refinement. You first explore a universe of sound with high-level controls, then dive deep to sculpt the details.
The Bridge: Discover & Perform
Your main performance interface. The X, Y, and Z knobs are your flight stick, allowing you to travel smoothly through a "timbral space" of unique sounds generated by the AI.
The Rectifier: Taming Chaos
This is your control over the AI's creativity, dialing
between pure harmonic order and raw chaos.
Hear the
Rectifier at different levels:
The Engine Room: Refine & Sculpt
Once you discover a compelling sound in the Bridge, the Engine Room is where you get
your hands dirty. This mode gives you direct, traditional access to the synth's individual modules. As
you move the {X,Y,Z}
knobs, you can watch the underlying parameters change in real-time—the
AI is showing you how it creates its sounds. The Engine Room is your space for detailed
refinement, allowing you to take an AI's suggestion and sculpt it into your perfect sound.
The Rinzler Engine
The synth engine is a powerful hybrid, combining classic analog concepts with the deep, complex textures of digital synthesis. It's built around a flexible architecture of algorithms, oscillators, filters, and a deep modulation system.
Algorithms: The Core Architecture
At the heart of Rinzler are eight different Algorithms. Think of these as unique
internal "wirings" of the synth's components, each creating a distinct family of sounds. The AI learns
the unique sonic personality of each algorithm, which you can then explore with the Bridge controls.
Algorithm Sweeps:
Oscillators & FM Synthesis
The core sound comes from morphing oscillators and Frequency Modulation (FM), key to creating Rinzler's signature glassy, metallic, and bell-like sounds.
Modulation: Envelopes & LFOs
Movement is the key to creating interesting sounds. Rinzler features a full modulation suite, including one ADSR and two DADSR envelopes and two advanced LFOs. These are the tools you use in the Engine Room to add everything from subtle vibrato to complex, rhythmic textural shifts.
The Filter: Sculpting Timbre
Rinzler uses a digital model of the legendary Moog Ladder Filter. High Resonance (Q) settings create the classic, sharp, "squelchy" sound that is a hallmark of analog synthesis.
A Synthesizer for Discovery, Not Emulation
The Rinzler Synth is a true synthesizer, an instrument for discovery, not emulation. Its purpose is not to recreate the sounds of the past, like a grand piano or a Hammond organ, but to be a creative partner in generating entirely new timbres for the future. While sample-based keyboards are designed to perfectly recreate existing instruments, Rinzler is built for sound designers, electronic musicians, and sonic explorers who want to go beyond the familiar. If you're looking for a perfect Rhodes piano, there are wonderful tools for that. If you're looking to create a shimmering, evolving pad that sounds like a nebula singing, you've come to the right place.
